The top four in the Rugby Premiership square off against each other with huge title race implications at stake. Joint leaders Hima Cement Heathens and Black Pirates will tussle it out for bragging rights against joint second placed Rimula Rhinos and Betway Kobs respectively at Legends RFC today.
Holders Kobs will be hoping to reverse their recent struggles and bloody the nose of the league leaders and rivals Pirates while they're at it. Heathens are coming off a wildly impressive 20-25 win at
Mongers, so they have the momentum as well as history having lost to Rhinos once in the last 11 meetings.
Rhinos` 28-9 loss to Pirates last Saturday left them broken but with lessons learnt and Heathens` coach Mohammed Athiyo has reason to worry as his opponents will want to get back on track.
“They are a good side that can hurt you,”Athiyo said.“You don`t get many chances in such games and we need to make every chance we get count,” he added.
While Pirates` coach Bobby Musinguzi thinks today`s game will be a big one, his Kobs counterpart Edmond Tumusiime sees it like any other game. “It looks like a big game on paper but it’s a normal game, 15against 15 and if we apply whatever we have worked on in training, then we shall get a good result to march onto the next game,” he reasons.
“It’s a big game that is going to be very challenging because we are up against the defending champions. If we win it, it will be a milestone as to motivate us to work harder each game if we are to winthe title,” Musinguzi says.
Elsewhere Rams host Buffaloes in Makerere as Impis host Warriors on the same grounds while Mongers head north to take on Gulu Elephants.
