Seasoned golfers Jadu Patel and Anne Abeja were the toast of the weekend as the breathtaking Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort hosted its inaugural members to a Johnnie Walker Blue Label-sponsored tournament on February 16.

Jadu stood out from a classy field of 48 men comprising of the nation’s big wigs with a tally of 34 points to edge Moses Matsiko, who took home the best member of the day diadem, and Manesh Tailor (h/c 21) on countback.

It was a similar win-margin in the women’s category. Abeja, playing off handicap 11, returned 30 points to better handicap five golfer Irene Nakalembe and 21-handicapper Liu Min Shu on the small matter of countback.

Similar tournaments will be held throughout the year, albeit on invitational basis as the course continues to undergo the 18 holes metamorphosis and other upgrades.
