The army will on Wednesday start recruitment of 3,000 soldiers including 300 cadets in the country-wide exercise that will end on August 13.

The army spokesperson, Lt. Col. Felix Kulayigye said they will start with Wakiso, Lyantonde, Kabale, Moroto, Arua, Koboko, Yumbe, Kitgum, Masindi and Kiryandongo districts. Others are, Luwero, Kisoro, Napak, Lamwo, Nakasongola and Nakaseke.

The minimum academic qualification for cadet recruits is a senior six certificate or its equivalent, while general recruits is a senior four certificate.

The two-week-long exercise that had initially been slated to start on July 27 was postponed to today. Both qualified male and female candidates should be aged between 18 to 25 years. Col. Kulayigye warned interested candidates against presenting fabricated academic documents.
