KAMPALA.

Shell Rimula Rhinos’ sacking of coach Brian Makalama has dominated the build up to today’s Nile Special Rugby Premiership ties. It is very debatable whether it was the right decision but that talk can wait with title hunting Betway Kobs in the mix.
John Musoke and Mathias Ochwo, the Rhinos caretakers have their work cut out starting with this evening’s tie against a Kobs side that ran over them 31-17 in the first round. The stakes are even higher this time around as both sides need a result for different reasons. A win for Kobs would help them keep leaders Pirates in sight while one for Rhinos can restore confidence after a tough week that has seen them lose ground in the title race on top of their coach getting the sack.
“As a team we need to put behind what happened and move on,” said Rhinos captain Ivan Markmot. “On a good day we are capable of beating any side and that’s the mentality we need to take into the game against Kobs,” added the half back.
Elsewhere Buzz Black Pirates’s depth will be fully tested today when they host Buffaloes in the early kickoff at Legends.
The Sea Robbers, who are chasing their maiden title will have to look deeper into their roaster and hope the results keep coming good if they are to reign supreme at the end of the season.
Captain Ivan Magomu, Raymond Emanzi, Isaac Rujumba, Barron Kasozi, Timothy Kisiiga, James Odongo and Desire Ayera are not available as they are engaged with Rugby Cranes 7s side.
