KAMPALA.

The Fufa Women Elite League (FWEL) has lacked the kind of nail-biting competition that was promised in the lead to the fourth edition of this competition.
Despite a good start to the season, Kampala Queens have fallen off-pace and ceased ground to Elizabeth Group favorites Olila and Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals.
In the Victoria Group, it is even shoddier.
Kawempe are eight points clear of second placed Ajax Queens and 10 points ahead of She Corporate in third.
So even though they will not play this weekend, three time champions Kawempe, could make the playoffs this weekend if Gafford and She Corporate fail to earn maximum points in their encounters with Western United and Rines respectively.

Back-to-back wins
She Corporate, however, seem to have resurrected late with back to back wins against Western and Ajax since the second round started.
The Mubs side enjoy a commendable run at home but struggle on the road.
They have won two games against Rines and Western United at Mubs, while they have also registered goalless draws against Muteesa I Royal University and Gafford at home.
The last time they played away against Ajax at Buddo SS, She Corporate nicked a point in 0-0 stalemate.
That game will give the side confidence going into today’s encounter with a stubborn Rines which doesn’t seem to win enough games but battles hard especially at home. A total of four games are on card this afternoon.
