KAMPALA. A win in association football guarantees the victor three points. The Cranes managed four in the just-concluded Africa Cup qualifying campaign as they finished with 13 points from six games.
For Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic, however, some wins carried more weight than the others. “This campaign we managed two wins away from home. The result in Botswana was the day we displayed our credentials. Today we just presented them for approval to be stamped,” explained the Serbian tactician during the post-match press conference. After dropping points in the goalless draw against group winners Burkina Faso, Cranes recorded an impressive 2-1 away win in Gaborone. The victory complimented the earlier 1-0 win away to Comoros as well the 2-0 home win over Botswana.
“This should be the routine rather than the exception. At the moment we have done is what the other nations that qualify have been doing,” he added.
