In Summary
  • “Since she did not even feel love anymore, her focus became their bank accounts, and how fast to empty them. And that every man who crosses her path deserves whatever he gets. ”

You know what I wished for, for Christmas and New Year’s? That these girls who run around spending people’s hard earned cash would settle down and appreciate their men, love them for who they are and not what they have. Well, like a certain friend of mine, Esther who has ‘seen days’ says, “but what is a man besides what he has?”

That one long gave up on love. Do not be like her. She believes that even when a man cares for her, and shows her he loves her, it is mere pretence. What a way to live life! But she was not always like this.
Once upon a time, she was a girl who had a soft warm heart that longed to love and be loved in return. And for a while, it was well. She loved unconditionally, and was loved in return.

Then she landed on a one Jeff, the man who turned her heart cold. If I may borrow a word from the old days, Jeff was the true definition of a ‘player’. He was stringing along at least six girls, Esther was one of them.

And she was clearly the most naive because she believed with all her heart that he was her true soul mate. Fast and deep she fell in love, only to resurface eight months later when Jeff was telling her to get lost.
But she was pregnant, she was expecting. So what? Jeff still told her to get lost and find the father of that baby.

It was not his, he did not want anything to do with her stupid and messed up life.
Esther was hurt beyond belief. For a long while, she moved about like a robot. Even when the baby came, Jeff still did not want anything to do with her and her strange baby. But the baby reminded her of Jeff so much, that she started to hate the baby a little.

But then the baby was innocent! It was Jeff that had messed up her heart. No, it was ALL men that had messed up her heart. The Esther that re-emerged from the cocoon was a heartless one.
She was as beautiful as ever, the men would never stop running after her. But she would make them pay.
Pay for Jeff’s mistake, pay for every tear that every girl has shed because of men. Since she did not even feel love anymore, her focus became their bank accounts, and how fast to empty them.

Esther is vengeful. Some might say she has every reason to be. And that every man who crosses her path deserves whatever he gets. But some men are good men.
In fact, most men are good men and all they want is a chance to get someone who appreciates them for what they are, not what they have.

And they will love abundantly. While it is a good thing to be cautious and prudent, it is also important to remember that if you do not give love, you do not get love.
No man is going to trust you and love you if you are not being clear. Well, you might say that love is overrated, but if it is, then what else is there to live for? Why start the new year if there is not going to be love in it?
