KAMPALA- Aziz Damani did not win any battle in the last match of their successful 2017 Jazz Safari National Cricket League campaign.
The new champions Aziz Damani lost to defending champions Tornado Bee by 7 wickets, but no one could blame them for their insipid show because they had already won the war the two weeks ago.

At the end of the match at Lugogo Oval, they were the ones making merry and partying like World champions because the title was already in the bag courtesy of their hard work and consistency in the season.

Tornado Bee, who are four - time topflight winners, fittingly gave the new champions Aziz Damani a champions parade at the end of the one-sided contest during which Brian Masaba and Company set just 100 runs.

“Hats off to Tornado for winning four in a row,” said Aziz Damani CEO Siva Koti. “I am delighted that it is my club that has ended their run. Now I urge my players to go on work harder and win five straight titles. I believe we can do it the Allah’s name. But first I have told them to win the coming Twenty20 Cup.”

Flashes of brilliance
Veteran Benjamin Musoke showed that class is permanent in his knock of 35 and U-19 skipper Kenneth Waiswa gave a glimpse into the future of Uganda Cricket with 22 runs as Damani crawled to a paltry 100 with Tornado Bee veteran Akbar Baig wreaking havoc with five scalps.

But all Tornado Bee did was inconsequential as it was just another day given to the engraver to put final silver linings on Aziz Damani’s trophy that will be given to them by Uganda Cricket Association at an anticipated glittering function at the end of the season.

Damani, who won the Division Two title last year as well, were joined by their sister Club Aziz Damani Masaka Secondary School Ladies Cricket Club, members of the sporting fraternity and Tornado Bee in their epic celebrations.
CEO Koti crowned the day by putting smiles on the faces of all his players by handing out cash tonics of no less than Shs3m in total to both of his sides.
Damani will now turn their guns to the Twenty20 Cup that starts in a fortnight before their off - season team bonding trip to South Africa.
