Betway Kobs have a chance to move on from last weekend’s loss to Heathens when they host Impis today.
After picking six wins on the spin, Kobs ended up on the losing side of a 23-18 result when they visited Heathens at Kyadondo. The loss cut their lead at the top by two points as Buzz Pirates closed in on 28 points after their 20-10 win over Rimula Rhinos.
Pirates play host to Hippos tomorrow.
Kobs’ loss at Heathens must have really hit where it hurts most but the Blue Army cannot afford to dwell on but get up and keep running, especially after it emerged that their players want to opt out of the national team in protest to the way their tie last Saturday was handled.
“We have to get back to the drawing board and fix where we did not do well today, it’s the only way we can get better,” Kobs captain Brian Asaba told Daily Monitor last week after Kyadondo disappointment.
A win for Kobs would give them the right momentum going into next week’s Legend’s derby against Pirates.
The league continues tomorrow as resurgent Heathens take the fight to Plascon Mongers in Entebbe, Warriors and Rams host Buffaloes and Rhinos respectively. With the last match day in round one due next weekend, no side wants to drop points but pick anything along the way.
